The best ads of September 2020 are here, and they took us by surprise. We saw amazing work from big retailers like IKEA, new partnerships from brands like McDonald’s who teamed up with a major celebrity, and small campaigns that caught our attention from companies like Aviation Gin.

If you love ads, be sure to sign up for our newsletter, The Ad Spot. It’s a Friday morning rundown of the best ads of the week.

And now, without further ado.

These were the best ads from September 2020.

1. IKEA

Ad Name: The Hare

This is one of the cutest ads we’ve seen in a long time. Watch as IKEA re-tells the fable of the tortoise and the hare while slipping in the subtlest of ad placements in between.

Later in September, IKEA and Mother followed up this spot with some awesome print ads as well. See how they’re continuing to promote sleep with their Tomorrow Starts Tonight ad campaign.

Release Date: September 4, 2020

Agency: Mother London

2. McDonald’s

Ad Name: The Travis Scott Meal

This one’s all about the partnership. The ad itself may not be that impressive, but the numbers were — the meal was even sold out at some locations. Bringing on star-studded power like Travis Scott opens up McDonald’s to a new conversation, especially among Gen-Z and on social media. This is the first time McDonald’s has ever named a meal after someone, and we think it’s a home run.

Release Date: September 8, 2020

Agency: Wieden + Kennedy

3. Kraft Canada
